Transmute Belonging Retreat: 16 to 19 August

Would you like to take time to move below the chatter of the modern world and drop into the deep wisdom of your breath, body, heart and spirit?

Join us for this Transmute Breathwork Winter Retreat focused on our sense of Belonging. This will be a three-night residential retreat experience, held in the beautiful Heartspace Retreat Centre, Yass Valley.

As humans, we are naturally inclined to connect with others, events, and the world around us. In fact, we have an innate yearning for connection and a sense of belonging in this world. Our feeling of belonging can link us to our own hearts, our family or community, or the world at large. It can be associated with the quality and depth of our social relationships or a sense of connectedness to a place and our felt sense of belonging to ourselves. Belonging is an experience that occurs when you feel fully accepted and connected without the fear of judgment or rejection. Where there is freedom to make mistakes, be vulnerable and loved without conditions. Belonging is a birthright but so to is it a practice, something that requires continuous nurturing, much like tending to a garden.

Before industrialisation, our ability to establish a strong sense of belonging and unity with others was crucial for our individual and collective survival. Without the support of our tribe, we would have been easy prey for the animals searching for their daily meal! However, as human society has evolved, our relationship with belonging has become detached from our ancestral roots. Modernity has isolated us, diminished our self-compassion, and fractured our sense of belonging in this world. Today, it’s common to find ourselves feeling like we don’t fit in or that parts of ourselves are rejected by those around us. This sense of not belonging can be experienced in relation to oneself, others, our connection with the Earth, our home, and the mysteries that surround us.

The Transmute Group Breathwork Belonging Retreat is created to delve into our relationship with this fundamental human experience—belonging. Through the practice of conscious-connected breathing (breathwork) and other mind-body techniques, you will be guided to reflect upon and explore the theme of belonging during a series of unique and dynamic breathwork sessions.

What is transpersonal breathwork?

Transpersonal breathwork is an advanced breathing technique called conscious connected breathing. This technique bypasses the thinking mind and activates subconscious memories, thoughts, feelings and emotions held in the body.

These experiences are explored, amplified, reframed and/or released. Breathwork is a down-up and experiential therapeutic practice that is guided by sensations and experiences within the body, rather than the mind.
